The Challenge

A 25-person professional services firm in Zurich was winning its share of initial meetings but losing too many deals in the final stretch. The average sales cycle ran 4–6 months. Partners were spending excessive time crafting bespoke proposals, answering similar objections across deals, and building collateral from scratch for every pitch. There was no standardised sales material, no systematic competitive intelligence, and no content library to support the later stages of the funnel.

The firm’s partners were experts in their field but not in sales enablement. Each deal required reinventing the wheel — case-in-point materials, competitive positioning, objection-handling frameworks. The result was inconsistency: some partners closed faster than others, but nobody knew exactly why.

The Approach

We built a complete sales enablement system — from competitive intelligence to ready-to-use collateral — so partners walked into every conversation prepared, consistent, and fast.

  • Competitive battlecards: The competitor analyst and conversion expert produced one-page battlecards for each frequent competitor and each common “do nothing” scenario. Each card covered the competitor’s likely pitch, common prospect objections, and the three talking points that most effectively differentiate the firm.
  • Proposal & pitch content library: The copywriter and brand manager built a modular content library — case-in-point narratives, methodology descriptions, team bios, and engagement models — that partners could assemble into tailored proposals in hours, not days. Everything on-brand, everything consistent.
  • Objection-handling scripts: The behavioural expert analysed 18 months of lost-deal notes and identified the six recurring objection patterns. The copywriter produced clear, tested response frameworks for each — turning ad-hoc partner improvisation into structured, confident responses.
  • Sales support content: The journalist produced long-form thought-leadership articles and industry analyses that partners could share with prospects during the consideration phase — establishing authority and keeping the firm top-of-mind during long sales cycles.
  • Multilingual proposal fragments: All sales materials produced in German (home market), French (Romandie clients), and English (international engagements) — so partners could respond in the prospect’s language without translation delays.
  • Idea generation for deal-specific needs: The idea-lab manager generated creative approaches for unique deal situations — bespoke workshop concepts, custom analysis proposals, and differentiated engagement models — giving partners a fresh angle for high-stakes pitches.

The Results

Within 3 months of deploying the sales enablement system, the average sales cycle shortened from 4–6 months to 2.5–3.5 months. Partners reported entering conversations with greater confidence and consistency. Proposal production time dropped from 2–3 days to 4–6 hours. The firm’s win rate on competitive pitches improved as the battlecards and objection frameworks ensured every partner — not just the most experienced ones — delivered the firm’s strongest positioning.
